Sutton Hoo Chicken

When you rear chickens better than any one else how do you achieve recognition, a premium proposition and increased sales when “free range” has become so commoditized and meaningless? Sutton Hoo have been leading the way in properly free range chicken for over 20 years since Charlie and Belinda Nash first started out on their farm in Suffolk.

We are working with the team to help them make more of their wonderful story and utterly delicious chicken and satisfy the UK appetite for great provenance, and great tasting food.

With new branding and an array of new marketing activity our first step is to recruit more artisan butchers and quality farm shops, introducing more people to properly free range slow grown Suffolk chicken.

Immediately upon working with Steve, it is obvious that he is highly experienced. Steve has really helped Sutton Hoo clarify what we wanted and which direction we needed to go in in order to drive sales forward and more clearly define our brand. We particularly loved how Steve respected our original branding and understood the importance of keeping some of our original identity whilst also helping us to move into a new chapter for our brand. We are very grateful to Steve and the team as ultimately they have helped us realise Sutton Hoo’s full potential as a brand.

The Barn

The Barn

Following the refurbishment of their café in January 2017, the owners of The Barn wanted a marketing plan and support to help them grow their business even further.

Our work with The Barn began in September 2017 providing day-to-day marketing support, against a plan that focused on the wide range of products in the garden centre as well as their on-site café with its range of home cooked foods.

Our work so far has included designing their marketing plan and goals, refreshing the website content and social media activity, introducing email marketing, and creating new photographic and video content.

We are excited to continue working with The Barn to help increase the success of their brand!

Kettle Foods

What started in 2008 as “we need a new web site” became a much bigger thought. At the outset the brand team needed help to find a simple communications idea to bring the KETTLE® Chips proposition to life, drive sales and build the brand.

We worked with the brand team from 2008 to 2013 to develop and implement a truly integrated brand communications plan. The brief considered all communications, and the programme started with a new TV campaign and new website.

In 2010 KETTLE® was voted the UK’s coolest snack brand. A promotional partnership with movie rental brand LOVEFiLM proved one of the most successful promotions ever and the new product launch, KETTLE Ridge Crisps quickly established nationwide distribution across most supermarket retailers.

‘Steve is an experienced and highly professional marketer. He has helped us across a number of different areas of the business, including Innovation and brand communication projects.

His input is invariably value adding and his easy manner builds strong relationships across all key stakeholders.’

Loop (Navetas)

Loop (Navetas)

In 2015 the team at Navetas identified the opportunity to launch their innovative smart energy monitor direct to consumers knowing they were an unknown brand in a highly competitive market. And they needed results…fast.

We developed a marketing programme based on the brand idea that this clever bit of kit could become a “white knight” brand, championing the cause of the customer against the big six utility companies. New messaging, highly targeted advertising and a refreshed proposition have been put in to play.

It’s still early days but the signs are encouraging as brand awareness develops, media interest grows and sales increase.

‘We hired Steve in August 2015 to help us develop a brand and marketing strategy for our product Loop, Steve quickly immersed himself in the business and has provided us with clear, focused advice on the best way forward. One of the things that we have been most impressed with is he is not afraid to be challenged on his advice or to push back when he does not agree with our view.
We would not have been able to employ someone of Steve’s experience and knowledge so the consultancy arrangement has worked very well for us. We have been lucky to have him!!’

Paddy and Scott’s

The business required a distinctive brand identity executed consistently across all channels as the centrepiece of its growth strategy in high quality foodservice and high street coffee bars.

We created a brand strategy and brand articulation to bring clarity to the brand and prepare the way for a highly effective re-design of it’s identity, providing hands-on support managing the project from creative brief through to delivery and launch to the market.

The work launched in March 2013 and helped secure the brands first “high street” cafe in a partnership with national DIY chain B&Q.

Café Pod

Increased competition from established coffee brands entering the new capsule sector in supermarket retail prompted this challenger to re-evaluate their brand proposition.

We worked with the entire team to create a brand blueprint that more accurately reflected their fantastic coffee credentials and captured the true spirit of the business and the people.

The Cafepod brand team are working on new packaging and a new website that brings to life their distinctive brand proposition.

Stokes Sauces

Surrounded by giants the ambitious team at Stokes Sauces wanted a brand and marketing strategy fit for the rigours of supermarket retail yet true to its food roots.

We identified the need to take the battle to the supermarket shelves and created an articulation of the brand, “food made better”, that would form the basis for branding, communication and maximising the effectiveness of the brand’s packaging.

Working within the Stokes business from 2013 to 2105 we introduced new branding, packaging and communications the business has helped grow retail sales, push further in to the foodservice sector and increased online sales significantly.

P.S. The ketchup and mayonnaise are amazing but the Red Onion Marmalade is our favourite (fantastic with cheese!).
