Bubble & Squid

Bubble & Squid

Still in its early days, Bubble & Squid is an exciting new street food and drink concept – serving delicious Calamari with a glass of bubbles.

We began working with Bubble & Squid in December 2016 and quickly developed a unique brand identity. Before they ventured out and launched in public we designed the food stand that would attend events as well as packaging design concepts, branded merchandise and staff uniforms.

Bubble & Squid has been created by local restaurateur Vernon Blackmore and food entrepreneur Paddy Bishop (of Paddy & Scott’s Coffee). Vernon is the squid, (proof you can trust a skinny chef) who has really nailed the Calamari recipe and Paddy is the bubbles, chats away about nothing and has drunk enough champagne to know what is good. They both saw the opportunity to bring a distinctive yet fun alternative to the traditional burgers and pizza street food offers.

We are delighted to say the plans and hard work have come to fruition – Bubble & Squid has travelled across Suffolk attending many different events such as The Aldeburgh Drink and Food Festival, The Suffolk Show and Opera in the Park. We have helped every step of the way with photography and video at the events to help the boys tell and sell their new story to investors and event owners. And the concept has been a huge success with more events planned for the year ahead and perhaps even a new restaurant outlet or two in the future!

Wicks Manor

The Wicks Manor brand is well established regionally but, with an integrated “field to fork” proposition, it has the potential to develop an identity and reputation that is of national relevance.

In fresh food, consumers seek products and brands they can trust – quality produce, farmed and produced to the highest standards by real people who care. These are important qualities and the foundation stones for building a nationally credible meat brand

We joined the team at Wicks Manor in April 2016 to provide a complete package of marketing support to the family farming and butchery business; refocusing the brand on great taste and quality farm made produce; guiding the redevelopment of the new branding and new packaging, rebuilding the brand’s online presence, and increasing communications activity across the board

The family farming and butchery business has recently launched new branding and attractive new packaging across their product range, designed to encourage more people to try great quality, farm made pork produce.  New space-efficient and stylish portrait packs are being introduced across the range to help retailers offer a wider range from their limited fridge space. The interest in the brand is growing amongst both customers, existing major retailers and new buyers.

Swiss Farm

A steady customer growth meant that Swiss Farm had the potential to build a bigger brand identity and online presence focusing on their good quality meat at a great value.

We joined the Swiss Farm team in August 2016 to provide marketing support for the business focusing the brand on fresh, good quality meat at a great value. With a complete rebrand, we created a whole new look bringing customers a brand-new website and a greater online presence, along with a new look to the butchery itself.

To rebuild Swiss Farms online presence, we have recently introduced new branding along with a responsive website with monthly news, delicious recipes from our butchers and exclusive competitions. We have seen the growth of customers since the launch, helping the butchery to sell more quality meat at a great value.

The Barn

Following the refurbishment of their café in January 2017, the owners of The Barn wanted a marketing plan and support to help them grow their business even further.

Our work with The Barn began in September 2017 providing day-to-day marketing support, against a plan that focused on the wide range of products in the garden centre as well as their on-site café with its range of home cooked foods.

Our work so far has included designing their marketing plan and goals, refreshing the website content and social media activity, introducing email marketing, and creating new photographic and video content.

We are excited to continue working with The Barn to help increase the success of their brand!

Kettle Foods

Kettle Foods

What started in 2008 as “we need a new web site” became a much bigger thought. At the outset the brand team needed help to find a simple communications idea to bring the KETTLE® Chips proposition to life, drive sales and build the brand.

We worked with the brand team from 2008 to 2013 to develop and implement a truly integrated brand communications plan. The brief considered all communications, and the programme started with a new TV campaign and new website.

In 2010 KETTLE® was voted the UK’s coolest snack brand. A promotional partnership with movie rental brand LOVEFiLM proved one of the most successful promotions ever and the new product launch, KETTLE Ridge Crisps quickly established nationwide distribution across most supermarket retailers.

‘Steve is an experienced and highly professional marketer. He has helped us across a number of different areas of the business, including Innovation and brand communication projects.

His input is invariably value adding and his easy manner builds strong relationships across all key stakeholders.’

Loop (Navetas)

Loop (Navetas)

In 2015 the team at Navetas identified the opportunity to launch their innovative smart energy monitor direct to consumers knowing they were an unknown brand in a highly competitive market. And they needed results…fast.

We developed a marketing programme based on the brand idea that this clever bit of kit could become a “white knight” brand, championing the cause of the customer against the big six utility companies. New messaging, highly targeted advertising and a refreshed proposition have been put in to play.

It’s still early days but the signs are encouraging as brand awareness develops, media interest grows and sales increase.

‘We hired Steve in August 2015 to help us develop a brand and marketing strategy for our product Loop, Steve quickly immersed himself in the business and has provided us with clear, focused advice on the best way forward. One of the things that we have been most impressed with is he is not afraid to be challenged on his advice or to push back when he does not agree with our view.
We would not have been able to employ someone of Steve’s experience and knowledge so the consultancy arrangement has worked very well for us. We have been lucky to have him!!’

Paddy and Scott’s

The business required a distinctive brand identity executed consistently across all channels as the centrepiece of its growth strategy in high quality foodservice and high street coffee bars.

We created a brand strategy and brand articulation to bring clarity to the brand and prepare the way for a highly effective re-design of it’s identity, providing hands-on support managing the project from creative brief through to delivery and launch to the market.

The work launched in March 2013 and helped secure the brands first “high street” cafe in a partnership with national DIY chain B&Q.

Café Pod

Increased competition from established coffee brands entering the new capsule sector in supermarket retail prompted this challenger to re-evaluate their brand proposition.

We worked with the entire team to create a brand blueprint that more accurately reflected their fantastic coffee credentials and captured the true spirit of the business and the people.

The Cafepod brand team are working on new packaging and a new website that brings to life their distinctive brand proposition.

Stokes Sauces

Surrounded by giants the ambitious team at Stokes Sauces wanted a brand and marketing strategy fit for the rigours of supermarket retail yet true to its food roots.

We identified the need to take the battle to the supermarket shelves and created an articulation of the brand, “food made better”, that would form the basis for branding, communication and maximising the effectiveness of the brand’s packaging.

Working within the Stokes business from 2013 to 2105 we introduced new branding, packaging and communications the business has helped grow retail sales, push further in to the foodservice sector and increased online sales significantly.
